We that have been spiritually exploited, manipulated and betrayed by the Worldwide Church of God and its splinter groups have great difficulty attending another church, praying according to a formula, and even trusting. We spent years keeping busy, feeling tired, serving, and performing constantly. We were not told that we would backslide if we slacked up, we were told that we would lose our very salvation. Now that we are free, we have found that these things have nothing to do with our personal relationship with Jesus Christ. He understands what we have gone through and accepts and loves us just the same. Yes, we love Him, we talk to Him, and we want to serve Him, but now our rest is truly found in Him alone.
