Fruits of the WCG

Joseph Tkach Sr. and certain others at headquarters outright deceived people in making themselves appear to be a "Christian church." According to I Timothy 3, they have disqualified themselves from being any kind of ministers of God. Jesus said that we should look at the fruits to see if it was from God. Well, here are the fruits I see in what was regarded as "God's true church." How could God have had any part in such evil? I am heart-sick to realize all the pain and misery that so many well-meaning members, including myself, have suffered over the years as a result of Herbert Armstrong's abominable lies. I know I did the right thing in leaving.

	Rebellion
	Cover-ups/history revision
	Twisting of N.T. grace

	Harsh discipline/disfellowshipping)
	Shunning
	Division
	Turmoil
	Fear
	Guilt
	Shame
	Lack of critical thinking
	Control
	Inferiority feelings
	Destruction of the ego
	Devaluing of one's personhood
	Degradation of women and children
	Lasting ill effects on children
	Burdens
	Poverty
	Loneliness
	Depression
	Suicides/attempted suicides
	Exploitation
	Confusion
	Magnitude of losses
