Trauma With Another Church

Lily of the Valley

Not every cult survivor will have the same experience with another church as revealed in these writings, but the sad fact is that the majority of Christians have not been educated concerning the ramifications of involvement with a destructive cult--not even understanding the words, "spiritual abuse." As a result, they can unwittingly cause further pain and re-traumatization to a survivor that is already suffering from complex post-traumatic stress disorder.

In spite of this painful experience, the minister of this large Christian church (who later re-located to another country to begin a new ministry) was familiar with spiritual abuse and legalism and expressed kindness, gentleness and compassion beyond what was ever known from a minister in the Worldwide Church of God. The love of Christ that he showed will always be remembered.
