The Full Christians
I paused and contemplated how many Christians today realize how full they really are? I thought of the ones that told me they had so many friends they could hardly count them all; I remembered those who had thousands at their memorial service; others with their whole families converted; and even one who traveled the wide world and was loved at every turn.
Stop and take a look at yourselves. Many of you are full and rich and have need of nothing. The sun shines so brightly in your life that you fail to see someone off in the shadows. Where is the true love for those who have quietly slipped into your midst, feeling poor and wretched and alone? How much did you really reach out to them and take them under your wing? How much did you listen to their letters when they tried to open their heart to you? How much did you sense their shy, but earnest desire to serve you in some way? Tell me now, did you notice when they gently offered you their delicate flower of love?
I realized so many Christians today have lives filled with a round of activities and a flurry of people to fill their every waking moment. They feel they are successful, doing the "Lord's work," but they are people drowned in a sea of prosperity and blessings. They cannot hear the sobs of the one who lies outside their door.
Who failed to teach you there were other tears to wipe away? Who hindered you in your ministry and blinded your eyes to knowing the depths of loneliness and grief? It most certainly was the shepherds over you.
And as I sadly went my way, I asked if there was any that could truly understand and care, any that could lift the burdens... Then I saw Jesus come and stoop down and wash the feet and minister to1 and love the ones that were cast off.

Footnote:
1 The word "minister" can be a trigger to some that were involved in the WCG, or one of its offshoots, and suffered from a minister's abuses. When used on ESN's webpages this word simply means "to care for; to assist; to give support to; to cause to stand."
