Letter from ESN to Steve Brown

Dear Steve:

It came to my recent attention that on one of your TV programs [8-24-97] you interviewed Joseph Tkach Jr., Pastor General of the Worldwide Church of God of Pasadena, California.*

I am aware that many in Evangelical circles are endorsing the WCG as a healthy, Christian church and one that is no longer considered a cult. However, there are others that realize we must go by more than a change in doctrines, and that is to look at the fruits. Those that have investigated the whole WCG story are not rushing in their endorsement of a group known to be the most destructive and deceptive for many decades.

I am part of the Exit & Support Network, the most fully informed organization on the WCG--past and present. All material is fully documented and researched.

I would urge you to please tap into the ESN for further information.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

D. W.

*UPDATE: In November 2004 the Worldwide Church of God moved its headquarters from Pasadena to Glendora, California. (Pasadena Star-News, October 25, 2004) By May 2006 all their offices were moved to Glendora. (Together May-June 2006).

Result?

I was taken off from KeyLife's mailing list very quickly with no further reply. Today Steve Brown is used as a "Christian reference" on the Worldwide Church of God's website.

UPDATE: Steve Brown writes articles occasionally for the WCG's Plain Truth. A letter was written to him in 2001 by former WCG member concerning Worldwide Church of God's articles in the Plain Truth. Read: WCG and Their Universalism Views
